On a related note...

The Terengganu Government has won in its battle to drive foreign cars. So if even the Government has no confidence in the quality of our national car, why would the public feel any differently? The workshops admit that they charge a 25% surcharge because the State takes such a long time to pay. And how would that change if they use a Merc? Although personally I'm sure the State Reps are gonna enjoy showboating in their new Merces...

And now Selangor's hinting at using the Camry, claiming it's cheaper than the Merc. No wonder some people have lost hope at the state of Malaysia's politics!

Dream Driving Mishaps

Quite a few of you who have been with me in my car have experienced some incident or another, whether you burst out laughing, prayed for survival, or simply sat in and crazily enough, it was a driving incident.

I was driving on what appeared to be the Federal Highway heading to KL. I was also chatting with a friend. Anyway, we were happily gabbing away when suddenly there was a police road block up ahead. To my horror we realised I was not on the main road, hell I wasn’t even on  the emergency lane, but I was on the MOTOR side road. I looked to my right and suddenly my chatting partner wasn’t there anymore! *

*Okay, let’s clarify (or rather confuse that even more). We’re in Malaysia where cars are right-sided, but for some reason I’ve been looking right to look at my friend. So I could have been driving a left-sided car. Either that or I was actually talking to my friend who was in another car, which is more plausible given the fact that he suddenly disappeared. Who knows???

So clearly I was stopped by the fuzz. And I was asked to pay immediately, RM300 (which to me was a rather small fine since  and of course I didn’t have cash on me. Surprisingly I was told I could pay by card! But since they didn’t have a credit card machine in the car (hey, it’s a dream, why not?) I had to leave my car and follow them to the Bangsar police station.

I got there and surprisingly the station was above a Burger King. And yeap, we visited the fast food joint first and that’s when I woke up!

Crazy crazy crazy… No, I don’t intend to make this a real life event guys, give me a break!

Snippets (Sorry I kebas title from your site Dr M ha ha)

I went to Perhentian last weekend, an aside from the occasional hiccup was quite fun, it could've been much much better if my significant other was there with me. A couple of things to note though: If you're into some real quiet alone time by yourself or with your partner then Perhentian Besar's the place to go. If you plan to be more activity-driven and hope to meet people then Perhentian Kecil's the place to be.

Being having some weird dreams lately, with some old acquaintances and old flames turning up. It could possibly be related to my recently sleep problems, but it really doesn't help when you wake up with a headache AND feeling confused.

My next treasure hunt is on the 9th of August, and I'll be with my intrepid band of hunters (Suresh, Su and Roshan). Hope we'll taste some success this time around !

Am also currently looking forward to my next adventure, although it looks likely I won't be able to start as quickly as I would like, on hindsight maybe it's a good thing, as it'll allow me to do some reflecting. It's organising time though as I get everything into order! Wish me luck!

I was in the neighbourhood when they called me (Across the road at a bank I'm starting to reaaaally not like) so it was easy for me to collect it at their office. Helped improve my mood too ... phew !

I think I should keep a proper record of any stuff I win from now on. Will help me be more appreciable of my prizes and keep track too! Also, for prizes from Radio stations I usually have to collect from their offices. So, at least it'll serve as a reminder too...

Randomness...

I passed this Wira on the way back to Bangi, blue with white stripes, kinda like an incompletely-painted race car. What grabbed my attention to it wasn't that though, it was the fact that hanging just underneath the bumper was a fucking teddy bear toy ! What the hell are they trying to achieve there? Is that supposed to be cute? I'm sorry, but having a teddy bear swaying around looking like he's hanging on for dear life as the car speeds on isn't exactly the definition of 'cute' for me.

Reminded me of the scene in Empire Strikes Back where Luke's hanging on to a weather device underneath Bespin, the Cloud City. Except there won't be an honest-to-goodness Millenium Falcon out to rescue that teddy...

Enjoy your short life, teddy. One of these days he's gonna get hooked onto an uneven bump or some stick on the road, fall off, and promptly get run over by whatever vehicle happens to come next.

Short run comes to an end...

It was another of those questions where you think you know the answer, you're not sure, you answer anyway, you get it wrong, you hear the real answer and you go...."Oh yeah, that's right..."

I only got that one wrong (the first question to boot!) , but the other guy got all 5 correct. Oh well, RM100, for a few minutes work, that's not so bad.. And here I was thinking of a dream run ha ha... Now I have to 'puasa' a bit (30 days!) from RedFM Competitions oh well :P

Thanks to the morning DJs though, Shaz, Will and Audrey, it was fun! Talk to you next month ha ha... :p

Who played the Devil alongside Keanu Reeves in Devil's Advocate?

It really isn't such a hard question. When you think of his monologue about God in the movie, it's pretty hard NOT to remember.

LOOK, don't touch.

TOUCH, don't taste.

TASTE, don't swallow.

And that's just the mellow bits!

So WHY on earth was it so hard for me to remember the name? My goodness! Lucky break for me, I made it through again despite my goof...

On to tomorrow!

As for Al Pacino, well, thanks for the memories!

Shopping Highlights (Say... what?)

So I went to MidValley yesterday to shop (shock ! horror!) Well, I was with my gal, and it was a MetroJaya Preview sale, gimme a break okay? I’ll spare you most of the details of my shopping but I’d like to talk about just one little bit. I’ve always admitted to having absolutely no knowledge of cosmetics whatsoever. Everytime I pass the cosmetics area with my gal it always feels like a different world, like the hangar of a Death Star. A mixture of awe and foreboding runs through my head.

So here we are about to finish the run of MJ, and she was looking for lip gloss. We stopped at this booth, where the displays immediately caught my attention. It was like something out of the 50s, with that I Love Lucy look, extremely playful and cheeky colors and attitude. The brand was Benefit.

Yeap, never thought I’d be doing this but I’m actually plugging a cosmetic brand right here ha ha.. There’s something about the style and design of the product that just grabs the attention, it’s extremely colourful and fun, and once you compare it to the black and white drab background designs of the other cosmetics, Benefit simply stands out. And my gal had a mini-makeover done right there, and we were extremely pleased with the results! So for you girls out there, you’ve got to try Benefit !

Okay, I think I’ve just jeopardised my masculinity enough… And no, I WON’T be posting any pictures of the product here thank you very much, if you want to find out more you can check out the website at www.benefitcosmetics.com

It was almost 11:30 by the time we were done and we hadn't even had dinner yet! I was famished and my gal was dehydrated, so we ended up going to Carls Jr. Oversized burgers and refillable drinks solves both problems, don’t you think? I actually ordered the Low carb option for my charbroiled chicken, and I must say, they need to find a better way to pack the Low Carb option. Cabbage leaves just doesn’t cut it man!
