Total randomness...
Don't look no more
Coz it'll only make your eyes sore...
Hey! Check out your R.E.M's
It's comforting the sanctuary that we have
I sneezed another brave idea
I wanna come look for you
And it'll be wonderful if I ever get there
The galaxy is open
So paint me on your right hand
And let's fly off Superman-style
It'll be so good
I'll never look back
Coz it'll only make your eyes sore...

Logging in...
Passwords. The more involved you are in comps, the more passwords you have to remember. Not to mention usernames!
Today i logged in to The Age paper in Australia. I wasn't sure what my account details were, but I tried anyway, and luckily I got it right first time. Otherwise, it's another reminder for me!
Hmm... let me compile a list of accounts I have that require passwords:
1. blogspot
2. blogdrive
3. yahoo
4. hotmail
5. The Age
6. WGS forums
7. My bank
8. My comp
9. Star Wars website (not Hyperspace)
10. Photobucket
11. Magic rankings
12. The Star
13. Epass (for radio dvr player)
Now that I've written that down, it doesn't seem like an enormous list does it? And yet, I can't remember them all anyway...
.... the things you do to distract yourself from other matters..............

The weekend...
Despite having the momentum dampened due to delay as a result of a lack of tables, my long-delayed Star Wars campaign took off! The first step took awhile, but I finally got there...
Saturday was a good day!
Sunday was not. And I'm not even sure why...

---> Indonesia!
This morning I had a chat with my neighbour (the mom) on my travels to Indonesia in the previous year. Of the most wonder to her was how it was that I was able to stay at two of my friend's family houses the entire time I was there! Thinking back, all I can say was, both families were extremely lovely and hospitable!
Was supposed to go in July for a business trip but doesn't seem likely at this stage. Still, I will be going at the end of the year to attend an event which I am extremely happy with. Willl update as time comes near.
Oh, to my Indo pals, if you're reading this, I need some help. I have some relatives who will be going to Jakarta in July. They're looking for hotel accomodation for three nights RM100-150 budget per night, preferably where cheap shopping places are nearby. Yes, obviously, they're of the shopping variety...

On a roll (or role, depending on what I'm talking bout!!
Currently preparing to start my first GMing for RPGs since 1999! Have not GMed for so long, my most successful stint being my Cyberpunk campaign.
With Star Wars it's so much easier as sources are aplentiful. With a SW enthusiast like Swedish in the group, things will be taking off!!
First session is tomorrow!
Note to self: Ask group whether they wanna change the course of history or stick with current story outcomes from the movies.

Weekend aftermath...
Here in Joe's, feeling really buggered. was over at Tish's house last night.
played lotsa pool and citadels! Felt sorry for Tish though, we introduce him to the Citadels game, then arseholes Joe and Raj proceed to kill him, steal his gold, and target his districts for destruction! Got screwed up, down, left, right centre, every which way...!
Pool was lovely, lost a lot though, but did get some training done on ball placement. Was a bit funny though when i managed to place the white ball just nice but the ball I aimed for did not actually get potted... hmm... something not right...
Also played for the first time 9 ball pool! Quite fun, had a race to 5 with Rudy, but we ended up on 3-3 had ta stop coz it was getting quite late (or early, depending on your perspective of 5 am :P)
Oh, btw, i've given up on writing about the rest of Swedish's and Ryan's party for now. If you want more sordid details, go to Triona's blog! (link on the left, plug plug!)Wed June 15th entry!
Alrighteo, off to cook lunch. Laterz...!

When we finally got upstairs we were kinda disappointed because I guess we had the wrong impression of what an executive suite meant. Apparently it's still a one room thing with one bathroom (just much bigger). Ah well, we'll just have to make do!
There was definitely a larger volume of people then the capacity allowed for, and we actually had to go in bit by bit to ensure that the hallway cameras didn't suddenly pick up a crowd of idiots entering one room all at once..
The games started off with Jacks. For those who don't know the game (I didn't before), how it goes is this: you pass the deck around... 1st jack chooses what to mix, 2nd jack mixes it in whatever amount, 3rd jack sips it, 4th jack downs the shot, whatever concoction it may be.
Memory's hazy here but I do remember taking one shot (Can't for the life of me remember what was in it), Y2J making one shot full of just plain Ribena cordial (Triona downing that one), Swedish covering for his gal by downing the shots she was supposed to, and Ian sipping AND drinking the last round with an extra large glass filled with all the drinks available! He wasn't allowed anything after. Btw, I think Rudy was upset coz he got to mix a fair number of times but didn't get to drink a single one!
Games proceeded with the nasty "I've never" game..If you have, drink up.
You find out lotsa stuff about people in this game, not that i'm gonna mention anything... Mika, the German chick kept getting upset when her turn came because no one gave her advance warning and she didn't have any idea... she and Swedish's gal kept getting into playful fights that was just so funny to watch... Oh, and Swedish was rip-roaring drunk by now!
Anyway, after awhile, I realised I had drank a fair bit, so decided to retreat to the inside bed and watch from a safer distance (previously i was sitting in front of the TV).
Then lotsa drama began!

Party 1A
1A? Well, Ryan and Swedish's party was divided into two: a dinner at Triona's dad's place, followed by the bash up at Hilton Hotel exec suite!
I was really exhausted after the tourney, so I asked Ahmad if I could just crash at his place. Ahmad, incidentally, had purchased a new keyboard and mouse, as well as an original DoW copy, yeah he's now Reeaaally into it... In any case, I passed out on his bed while he happily installed and put his new computer stuff to use...
Woke up at 8:30pm, supposed to wake up Triona but I think she woke us up instead. So we ended up being a wee bit late compared to most of the guests but it didn't matter coz the food never ran out...! My roughly 2 hours of sleep infused me with a shot of adrenaline as I proceed to wolf down fried chicken, potato salad, mee, satay, and pasta,
I also flirted rather outrageously and disastrously with certain female members of the party. Suffice to say, I was turned down in various ways. I admit I was really high at the time, though not having had a drink yet, possibly due to the DoW disappointment earlier in the day. No amount of turning down was gonna put me off!
So we sang Happy Birthday for Swedish and Ryan (or Bubbles, ha ha!), ate some lovely chocolate cake! mmm.... took random pictures, some cool, some not so cool, and all-in-all, had a fun time at the restaurant. We ended up with a lot of leftover food though, so of course, we packed it all up to Hilton Hotel!
I took a ride with Y2J, and in a minor victory managed to get Syaszie and Deborah into the car as well, along with a good portion of the food. I remember mentioning to Y2J, "Hey, we've got a car, good food, and two lovely ladies to boot, what say we ditch the party and have our own little get-together?" Needless to say, this sad attempt did not generate any favourable response...
Anyway, Y2J dropped us off as he had to change from his office wear, and after a few minor hiccups, we finally got to the hotel room, 1561 I believe it was...

PEANUT BUTTER!!!
INTERVAL: Sudden craving for peanut butter!
Damn this is good stuff.
While writing those last few entries, I've been chatting online with hmm:
Swedish, Joseph, Rudy, Deb, Sean, Ben and Joe!
Filled with all sorts of random conversation, although with Swedish it was 50% Star Wars coolness.
Felt bad while talking to Joseph and Joe because I didn't make it for the Magic Regionals tournament on Sunday. On the other hand, my concentration would REALLY have been suspect.
Just realised one of the reasons I wasn't at home for a long while was coz I get to talk to my pals a lot more... Cheaper too!
Man, I'm not gonna make it to the birthday party story, maybe tomorrow...

the REAL DoW comp report!
So we arrive at Low Yat Plaza, the scene for the DoW tourney, and we find out what maps we will be playing. And not to my surprise at all, i found out that me and Ahmad, Team 4, WGS LOST IN SPACE, would be playing the 1st round in a new map, Tainted Place. Ah well...
Still, the fact we were in the 2nd half of the table meant we'd only be playing at 2pm. Time enough to catch some sleep. Anyway, Team 2, WGS T.Ts of Doom and Team 5, WGS The Irregulars would play at 11am.
Unfortunately both teams lost in the first round of the comp. To their credit however, Team 2, lost to the team that made it all the way to qualify for Sunday. The pressure was definitely on the rest, and since my team was playing in the afternoon, Team 4 in particular for that day. In any case, after seeing the team that defeated Team 2 play, we realised the standard was relatively high.
I went to get food at lunch time, and then I passed out on the makeshift stage for about half an hour. I then awoke to a pleasing sight, that of two girls removing their jackets and long skirts to sweet black numbers, spaghetti straps and mini-skirts. Turned out they were promoters for the event, and I was sleeping precisely on the spot where they put their bags under the stage. I just sat there and er... watched...?
We finally played at 2pm and me and Ahmad did our typical shit, early game rush. Thing is, we are horrible at mid-game late game stuff, so we just stuck to our standard tactics. Fortunately, we ended up winning 2-0, relieving pressure and increasing motivation at the same time.
So we had some time to kill, so we ended up watching our second round prospective opponents play in the 1st round. And holy shit, they were freaking good. They played the keyboard like a f*cking piano. And what hotkeys did I know aside from the 1-0 we set ourselves? B C, B L, Q ha ha....
So yeah, we fell to some nasty eldar blinking tactics to by far a superior team, like team 2. We spent the rest of the day playing free Dawn of War games with the tournament PCs, hey we needed to release some frustration alright!
It really sucked that all three teams didn't make it for Sunday. However, said condition helped to set up the events of the following night...!

the Dawn of War comp report!
The night before my DoW tourney (That's Thursday night) saw me busy preparing heavily. Not sure if I mentioned it before, but the rounds are all 4 player games, i.e. 2 v 2. However, we all decided not to play anything the night before, so I decided to play in the best 4 player game of all time...
Chou Tai Ti!
Unfortunately Raj was on a hot streak and I think all of us ended up losing to him at one level or another. Thing is, we were waiting for WGS T-shirts to arrive to wear on Friday, so we were just killing time. Problem being we ended up leaving at wtf 4+ in the morning!!
Ended up staying at Zack's place for the night with Jon, er... morning, not that we had much sleep ANYWAY! Zack drew me maps for the ones we hadn't played before, Tainted Place and Mountain Trail and we chatted a fair bit. I think I got about 1/2 hours sleep before we call Triona to wake her up (turns out she was awake) and Jon gets to work immediately yelling to her to get hand lotion! We try Ahmad but no answer.
We then have brekkie near Triona's place and continue calling Ahmad to no avail. We decide to crash his house instead only to find that the bum is still asleep and we end up chatting with his mum instead. Turned out to be an enjoyable time, his mum was really friendly and chatty, and spent time with us while Ahmad got ready.
Hang on a sec, isn't this supposed to be a report about the actual competition!?? This is all pre-match stuff isn't it?
Ah well, next entry... ha ha..

LOTS to WRITE...
...And so little brain energy to do it!
My last post was like one week ago!
Anyway, I think I'll post all of it in capsule style a la Triona's blog as opposed to one large entry. Then it might make more sense...
Or at least easier to write!
And I am finally back on my home computer, so not in a cybercafe anymore... not that I could when I was there anyway :D
Okay, lessee...

Need some time...
Have been taking some time on my own lately. I really need it right now.
After the DoW tournament this weekend I want to change some stuff really drastically. Will see what happens this week...
And for what it's worth, I'm sorry...

Today is Friday!
Won't be around for most of the weekend, which sucks, but I'll definitely make up for it in the week ahead.
Lotsa things happenin', but right now training for DoW is heating up. Me and Mudster need to work out our timing, communication, the works, before next weekend which is when the comp is!
Tonight will be me, Ahmad, Andy and Triona only, I reckon. But yeah, as long as I get some more practise in. Rudy's trying to get me to go to Twilight Action Girl... we'll see... depends on how early I start off for DoW.
Crap, I need to find a present for this weekend's birthday!
